Surveillance video obtained by TMZ shows Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old Lake Elsinore girl, running away from home more than a year before her body was found in a Tesla registered to singer‑songwriter D4vd. The footage, captured at about 7 a.m. on March 19, 2024, at a local liquor store, shows a girl wearing a black hoodie and white pants, who the family identified as Rivas. The store owner, Elie Naddaf of Dellago Spirits, told TMZ that Rivas’ sister reviewed the security tapes that morning at the store and confirmed it was her sibling. Naddaf said Rivas often stopped by for soda, chips and gum, and that he did not hear about trouble at home.

Rivas had run away from home repeatedly—at least three times in 2024, according to law enforcement, with the last contact in July before she disappeared again in March. In January 2024, police found Rivas in Hollywood and returned her to her family. Her disappearance again drew attention when authorities announced that a severely decomposed body found Sept. 8 in the front trunk of a Tesla belonged to Rivas. The Tesla was registered to David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd. Investigators have not named Burke a suspect or person of interest, and the cause of death remains undetermined while detectives continue to examine how Rivas died and why she was in the vehicle.

Police executed a search warrant at a Hollywood Hills mansion where Burke had been staying, seizing electronics and computers. Investigators said Burke cooperated fully, canceled tour dates and vacated the $20,000-a-month rental days after the search. Officials have reiterated that Burke is not currently labeled a suspect or person of interest. The Riverside County and city authorities are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding Rivas’s death.

Online speculation circulated on social media about a possible relationship between Rivas and Burke, but police have not indicated any connection between the two beyond their association in this case. The body has been released to relatives, who held a memorial in Lake Elsinore as authorities continue to investigate.
