Taylor Swift arrived in Santa Barbara on Friday for Selena Gomez’s wedding to Benny Blanco, stepping off a private plane in a dark shirt as a group rushed out with black umbrellas to shield the pop star from view.
Only Swift’s elbow was visible in snapshots from the arrival, and a bystander was seen carrying luggage and a white box, possibly a wedding gift. After descending the plane’s steps, she climbed into a waiting black SUV. A representative for Swift did not immediately respond to requests for comment. A Page Six insider had earlier said she would be lodging in a private rental near the wedding venue for security reasons rather than staying at a public hotel.
Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, are reportedly set to marry on Saturday at a private Santa Barbara estate, part of a two-day celebration in Montecito, California.
A separate report described the guest arrival logistics: all guests would be picked up and driven to the venue without knowing their destination ahead of time.
Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, was not confirmed to attend the weekend, with the Kansas City Chiefs scheduled to play the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in Missouri.
Swift and Gomez have been friends since the late 2000s, with public exchanges that have included engagement chatter and mutual congratulatory posts. The duo have supported each other through major moments, including Gomez’s engagement to Benny Blanco announced in December 2024.
Swift’s umbrella-shrouded arrival follows a recent incognito moment at a different high-profile event, when she entered a Chiefs game behind a large screen, a sight that sparked speculation about how she navigates public appearances amid a busy schedule.
