Tom Holland sustained a mild concussion on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day after a stunt went wrong, prompting a temporary halt in production, Deadline reported Friday. The actor was taken to a hospital, treated and released, and a production source said he would take a break "out of precaution" but is expected to return to filming in a few days. A representative for Holland did not respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.

Deadline's report indicated the pause was precautionary, with crew members temporarily stopping work to reassess safety and scheduling. There was no indication of a broader delay to the film’s release timeline.

Over the weekend, The Sun carried a report that Holland attended a charity event with Zendaya and his father, but left early because he wasn’t feeling well. Fox News Digital has not independently verified that detail, and a representative for Holland did not comment on the story.

This incident comes in a year when on-set injuries have drawn attention for other stars as well. Charlize Theron, filming her action project Apex, revealed she sustained a painful injury while performing stunts without protective gear and called it a "miracle" she’s here today. She also quipped at Netflix’s 2025 upfront presentation, "Don’t tell Netflix," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Tom Cruise has a long history of demanding stunt work as well. In bonus content from the digital release of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie discussed one sequence in which the actor’s character leaps between planes. "Oh, this almost broke my back," Cruise recalled, while McQuarrie described the moment by noting the strain of "holding on to this belt" and adding that the sequence was brutal. Entertainment Weekly reported on the exchange.

A Holland representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and there has been no official confirmation of any extended delay. The studio typically reviews the incident with safety teams before resuming work on the production, and officials have not announced any changes to the film’s release schedule at this time.
