Twin Carrie Ingalls stars reunite in LA after decades away from Hollywood
Rachel Lindsay Greenbush and her twin Sidney—who shared the Little House on the Prairie role—were spotted with their spouses in Los Angeles, reflecting on childhood on the iconic show and life beyond acting.

Rachel Lindsay Greenbush and her identical twin Sidney, who goes by Robyn, are best known for sharing the role of Carrie Ingalls on Little House on the Prairie. The pair first drew notice in the TV movie Sunshine, where they played Jill Hayden, and when director Michael Landon was casting the family drama that would become a television staple, he recommended the twins for the part after learning a fellow creator was developing the project. From the age of three, the twins alternated the same part, effectively growing up on set as the show's third daughter.
Often described by fans for blunt bangs and pigtail braids, the sisters helped define the on-screen family dynamic. Their time on the series involved sharing scenes and improvising where needed, and one of their most enduring moments came from the opening-theme meadow scene in which Carrie trips. Rachel later told People Weekly in 2001 that the stumble was a mistake, but Landon loved it, so it stayed in the final cut.
By the time Little House on the Prairie ended while the twins were still in high school, opportunities in acting had dried up. They retired from Hollywood to focus on education. The siblings pursued different paths: Rachel Lindsay Greenbush earned an accounting degree and later kept acting on the side, while Robyn pursued other pursuits. They both graduated Santa Monica High in 1988. Rachel appeared in one episode of Matt Houston, and the sisters also did commercials for Double Mint Gum, Mattel, and KFC. Robyn appeared in Hambone and Hillie (1983).
On the personal front, Rachel's long-standing connection to Danny Sanchez began on the Little House set when she was seven and he was fourteen; a neighbor who would sneak onto the lot to be near the cast and crew. The couple reconnected decades later and wed in 2014, beneath the very tree where they first met, near Plum Creek, a well-known filming location from the show. They have described their romance in reunion interviews and on Hallmark Channel specials.
Sidney Robyn Foster moved away from acting and built a career outside Hollywood, working as a sales system administrator for a residential builder. She married horse breeder William 'Rocky' Foster, and the couple remained together for nine years until his death days after she filed for divorce.
Most recently, the sisters were photographed in Los Angeles this month, continuing their post-television lives away from the spotlight. Rachel, 55, stepped out in a red V-neck top with floral motifs, black yoga pants, black sneakers, and a white leather backpack, while her husband, Sanchez, wore a vintage Harley-Davidson T-shirt, dark-wash jeans, and suede boots. The sighting follows years of occasional reunions and fan events connected to Little House on the Prairie, underscoring the enduring bond formed on set as children that carried into adulthood.
