Zayn Malik announces Las Vegas residency for 2026

Former One Direction star to headline a week-long January run at Dolby Live, Park MGM

Zayn Malik has announced a week-long Las Vegas residency for January 2026 at the Dolby Live venue at Park MGM, confirming the engagement on Instagram. The former One Direction singer has only toured solo once since leaving the group, during last year’s Stairway to the Sky shows.

Residencies in Las Vegas are a common form of engagement for major pop acts, with performers such as Adele, Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga having staged long-running runs in the casino city. Malik’s Vegas residency is shorter than many, but it marks a high-profile return to live performance and has sparked speculation among fans about the scope of his comeback.

The announcements come as Malik has been seen in the United States with former bandmate Louis Tomlinson, a rare public sighting since One Direction’s 2015 hiatus. It’s believed to be the first casual meeting of the pair in public in years; the only other notable moment in that vein was at former bandmate Liam Payne’s funeral last year.

This week Malik released a new song, Break Free, which ties in with the video game Borderlands 4. A self-described lifelong gamer, he told US entertainment outlet Variety that when he’s not recording or parenting his daughter, he spends time in front of a console, gaming with friends back home in the UK.

The residency announcement also came amid fan attention to Malik’s live-performance history. In 2016 he apologized to fans after pulling out of a Capital Summertime Ball appearance because he said he was haunted by anxiety. More recently, he has discussed his struggles with anxiety in interviews, including remarks about overcoming nerves after becoming a father.

Tickets for the Las Vegas shows go on general sale Friday.
