Bosnian nurse, 26, dies two days after wedding

A 26-year-old nurse from Sarajevo died Monday, two days after she married Faris at the Hollywood Hotel, family members said. Adna Rovčanin-Omerbegović, who also worked as an influencer and ran a beauty salon in the city, fell ill hours after the ceremony and was rushed to hospital. She slipped into a coma on the wedding night, and her death was confirmed two days later. The cause has not been released, and officials said an autopsy would determine the circumstances of her illness. A Croatian outlet, Story, has reported that concussion is suspected, but authorities have not confirmed a cause pending autopsy results.

Funeral arrangements were held on Wednesday at Bare Cemetery in Sarajevo, with prayers recited at the nearby Mosque of Kobilja Glava. Tributes from friends and followers poured in, praising her work as a nurse at a health center, her cosmetics business, and her role as an influencer. "Yesterday you were among us, today we send you off. Rest in peace, dear Adna," one follower wrote; another added, "It is not fair that the lives of young people should end prematurely like this." A third said, "You will forever remain in our hearts." Friends told Bosnian publication Crnu-Hronik that Adna loved helping others and balanced a healthcare career with her hobby of makeup.

Photos published earlier this year show the couple two months before their wedding, holding hands and looking toward their future, and solo images of Adna smiling with flowers and a picnic painted a picture of a bright summer ahead.

Health authorities have not disclosed a cause; investigators are awaiting autopsy results to determine what led to her deterioration after the ceremony.
