Helen Flanagan reveals health struggles as children recover from illness and she addresses trust in men

Helen Flanagan has said she has “had a lot going on” health‑wise as her children recovered from a sickness bug, hours after she posted a cryptic meme about trusting men on Instagram. The former Coronation Street actress, 35, has long spoken about Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), a hormone‑related mood disorder, and she confirmed she has recently endured a PMDD episode alongside the children’s illness.

In a separate social post, Flanagan shared a Sleeping Beauty meme that centers on trust, depicting the Prince asking: "Do you trust me?" with Sleeping Beauty replying, "No, I stopped trusting men a long time ago." She explained that she has been quiet on social media because she has been dealing with a lot, including a PMDD flare and days when all three children were unwell.

The post comes amid a period of personal and financial strain. Flanagan has faced a string of challenges, including financial woes and a breakup from footballer Robbie Talbot earlier this year. She also described a recent emotional moment, saying she has struggled with anxiety and that co‑parenting has been difficult. Earlier this year she spoke about not living with her former partner, arguing that his presence in the home was not helpful for the children when he briefly moved back in.

Flanagan shares Matilda, nine; Delilah, six; and Charlie, three, with ex‑fiancé Scott Sinclair. The pair separated in 2022 after 13 years together, and their co‑parenting arrangement means the children spend part of their holidays with Sinclair, something Flanagan has publicly described as painful.

The actress also ended her relationship with Robbie Talbot earlier this year, with a source telling The Sun that they wanted different things and that she had recently started a new acting job while balancing motherhood with work commitments.

On the financial front, Flanagan has been adjusting her housing situation, including lowering the asking price on her £1.5 million family home. The property has since come down to about £995,000 after an initial cut to £1.195 million.

In addition to these developments, Flanagan underwent a cosmetic procedure earlier this month. She posted about a £500 treatment session that included lip filler in her top lip and Botox, while noting she did not pursue further work on her lower lip. She also documented a second treatment for the under‑eye area using polynucleotides, an injectable product derived from salmon sperm intended to improve skin quality, hydration and brightness. Clinics typically charge between £200 and £500 per session for this type of treatment in the UK, depending on the clinic and treatment plan.

Overall, the updates illustrate a year of personal upheaval for Flanagan, who continues to navigate health challenges, co‑parenting responsibilities, and public scrutiny while pursuing acting work and managing family finances.
