Imogen Thomas has shared the results of a breast reduction and uplift she underwent in Istanbul, posting an Instagram video on Thursday that showed her recovery and the post-operative appearance.
The 42-year-old Welsh model and former Big Brother contestant posted footage of herself posing in a white bralet and wrote in the caption: "Back to natural (love heart eyes emoji) best decision with the best surgeon @dr.salihonurbasat ✨ I couldn’t be happier #backtonatural #breastreduction #drsalihonurbasat." Thomas had earlier shared a health update two weeks before posting the results, documenting the build-up to the operation. In footage from the day of the procedure she showed preparations at the clinic, including medical staff marking her chest, and later gave a thumbs up to the camera while wearing significant bandaging.
The reality star said she had considered options including having implants removed, adding implants or opting for an uplift and reduction, and that she ran a poll asking fans to help decide. She ultimately chose to reduce and lift her breasts after previously having undergone augmentation that increased her size from 34C to 34E.
Thomas told followers she elected the operation in part for physical comfort after weight loss and changes in body shape. She said she had been doing reformer Pilates and experienced lower back pain and a sense of being "top-heavy," and that she could not tolerate her current breast size. She also posted that the day of the operation "was so smooth and extremely organised" and thanked the surgeon she named in her caption.
The model has previously discussed her approach to elective cosmetic surgery, saying in earlier interviews that she sometimes arranges social-media collaborations with surgeons rather than direct payment for procedures. She has also spoken about anxiety related to surgery: following a prior operation in 2017 she said she was left "petrified and in tears" at the prospect of anaesthesia.
In her Instagram update about the recent procedure Thomas invited followers to "stay tuned" for results while she recovered. Commenters on the post shared messages of support, with several users noting improved comfort and relief after similar surgeries.
