Three children hospitalised after fire at Enfield flat block
Smoke inhalation reported as a blaze tears through a three-storey block on Maybury Close in Enfield; about 70 firefighters deployed and the roof and second floor damaged

Three children were taken to hospital after a fire ripped through a three-storey block of flats in Enfield, north London, with authorities saying they were suffering from smoke inhalation. The London Fire Brigade said they were alerted just before 05:20 BST, and the first of more than a dozen calls was received at 05:19.
The blaze left the entire roof and most of the second floor on fire as crews from several stations across north London and from Hertfordshire battled to bring the flames under control.
About 70 firefighters were deployed to tackle the blaze, and the fire was brought under control within around four hours, the LFB said.
The three children were taken to hospital with smoke inhalation. The London Fire Brigade did not disclose whether any other residents were injured, and a cause for the fire had not been released in the initial update.
The incident highlights the risk of smoke inhalation in urban fires and the scale of a multi-station response to protect residents.
