TIME Hosts Second Annual TIME100 Health Leadership Forum in New York City

TIME convened leaders across the health sector in New York City for the second annual TIME100 Health Leadership Forum, spotlighting conversations on equity, longevity and solution-driven care aimed at improving reliability and access in health systems.

The forum assembled members of the TIME and TIME100 Health communities alongside other health-sector innovators to discuss actionable approaches to current challenges. Sessions on protecting frontline providers, reimagining care for longer and healthier lives, and closing gaps in women’s health featured clinicians, patient advocates, industry leaders and nonprofit executives.

Speakers at the event included Corey Feist, co-founder and CEO of the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes Foundation; Farida Labaran, a registered nurse and mental health advocate; and Todd Maron, chief legal and impact officer at FIGS, who took part in a session titled “Protecting Providers: Advocating for Healthcare Professionals in Need,” moderated by Kelly Conniff, deputy editor at TIME. A panel on “Reimagining Care: Living Well, Living Longer” featured actor and activist Selma Blair, Dr. E. Anders Kolb, president and CEO of Blood Cancer United, and Dr. Andrew Diamond, chief medical officer at Amazon One Medical, moderated by Alice Park, senior correspondent at TIME.

An additional spotlight moment highlighted Amy Ronneberg, chief executive officer of NMDP. A panel focused on women’s health, “What Women Need: Bridging Gaps in Women’s Health,” included Dr. Jennifer Ashton, an obstetrician-gynecologist and obesity medicine and nutrition specialist and founder of Ajenda; Dr. Shelley Hwang, professor of surgery at the Duke Cancer Institute; and Kalahn Taylor-Clark, head of social impact and sustainability at Merck, with Charlotte Alter, senior correspondent at TIME, moderating.

TIME Chief Executive Officer Jessica Sibley said the organization was “honored to reconvene extraordinary leaders and innovators driving solutions at the forefront of health for the second TIME100 Health Leadership Forum,” and emphasized the forum’s role in advancing “actionable, meaningful change.” TIME Executive Editor and Chief Strategy Officer Dan Macsai said the event both showcases ongoing work in the field and “creates space for collaboration that can accelerate solutions the world urgently needs.”

Now in its second year, the TIME100 Health Leadership Forum complements TIME’s TIME100 Health list, which recognizes 100 individuals judged by the magazine to be most influential in health. The forum is presented by Premier Partner Merck, with Signature Partners Amazon One Medical, Blood Cancer United (formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) and FIGS, and a Supporting Partner, NMDP.

TIME’s coverage of the forum, including session highlights and profiles of participants, is available at TIME.com.
