Urgent appeal to locate 77-year-old man with Alzheimer's last seen boarding a bus in London

Police in London issued an urgent appeal Sunday to locate John, a 77-year-old man from Merseyside with Alzheimer's, who was last seen boarding a bus in Colliers Wood around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21, traveling toward Charing Cross. He had been staying at the Alma Hotel in Wandsworth and was captured leaving the hotel on CCTV at about 2 a.m., wearing a blue blazer and brown shoes. Neither his bank card nor his mobile phone has been used since the sighting.

The bus route is believed to have taken him through southwest London, including Clapham, Balham and Tooting, in the early hours before he disappeared. Police describe him as high risk and vulnerable, and his family says they are devastated by his disappearance. Investigators say John may have been attempting to travel home to Liverpool by train via central London, traveling alone after visiting friends in the capital.

Wandsworth Police released the appeal, noting that John was last seen leaving the Alma Hotel on Old York Road around 2 a.m. and that his movements since then are being tracked across public transport routes through central London. He is described as a 77-year-old man from Merseyside, with no sign of activity on his cards or phone since he was last seen.

His family has described being left devastated and extremely worried, pleading with the public to come forward with any information. Authorities urge anyone who has seen John to contact police by calling 999 and quoting reference 01/7996439/25.
