The All Blacks beat Australia 33-24 at Auckland's Eden Park to retain the Bledisloe Cup for a 23rd consecutive year. The victory kept New Zealand on top of the Rugby Championship with one round remaining and extended their unbeaten run at Eden Park to 52 matches.

New Zealand started strongly, with winger Caleb Clarke crossing inside three minutes and Leroy Carter and Cam Roigard following with tries to build a 20-3 lead midway through the first half. A try from Australia hooker Pollard, and a late score by winger Harry Potter just before the half-time whistle, left the teams separated by three at the break.

Two penalties from Damian McKenzie after the restart stretched the advantage, but Australia reduced the gap when flanker Carlo Tizzano scored a converted try to set up a tense final 10 minutes. Roigard then calmed home nerves by scoring a late try from a Jordie Barrett pass, sealing the win for New Zealand.

Australia sit in second in the Rugby Championship with two wins and three losses, heading into their final game of the tournament in Perth next weekend. The Wallabies have not won at Eden Park since 1986 and have now suffered 23 straight defeats at the stadium.

The 2025 Bledisloe Cup edition is set to be decided over two matches; if the series ends 1-1, the cup remains with the holders.
