Anderson Silva stops Tyron Woodley in second round on Paul-Joshua card
Silva, 50, improves to 4-2 in boxing as Woodley falls to 0-3; the cruiserweight bout was part of Jake Paul’s event featuring Anthony Joshua in Miami.

MIAMI — Anderson Silva knocked out Tyron Woodley in the second round on Friday night, delivering an uppercut and a flurry of punches to seal a technical knockout on the undercard of Jake Paul’s bout against Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center.
Silva, 50, improved to 4-2 in boxing with his fourth win by stoppage. Woodley, 43, is 0-3 in professional boxing after losses to Paul on two occasions. In the second round, Silva trapped Woodley with an uppercut and a rapid sequence of rights that dropped Woodley to the canvas. Woodley rose at the eight-count but could not mount a comeback, and the referee stopped the bout, giving Silva the technical knockout.
Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion, remained winless in pro boxing with this third loss after a pair of defeats to Paul. The cruiserweight bout took place on Paul’s card promoting his fight against Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, a show that has featured several crossovers between mixed martial arts and boxing.
Silva’s victory adds to a growing trend of crossover fights that are drawing new audiences to boxing, especially on events staged by Jake Paul. The 50-year-old Brazilian icon has previously fought Jake Paul and Osmar Luiz Teixeira, suffering losses to Paul while defeating others. After the win, Silva called out Chris Weidman for a potential future matchup.

What’s next for either man was not announced on Friday night, and both left the ring with questions about where their schedules go from here.
