Bills' Josh Allen surpasses Patrick Mahomes' touchdown mark in win over Dolphins

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen became the fastest player to reach 300 career offensive touchdowns, including the playoffs, in the Bills' 31-21 win over the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night at Highmark Stadium. Allen capped the opening drive with a 20-yard touchdown pass to Dalton Kincaid, giving Buffalo an early lead and signaling another milestone for a season already off to a fast start.

Miami opened with a touchdown on its first possession, and the back-and-forth rhythm persisted through the fourth quarter. Tua Tagovailoa connected with Tyreek Hill in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 21 with 12:18 remaining after a nine-play, 67-yard drive. But a late sequence swung the momentum back to Buffalo. On a pivotal punt situation, Bills punter Cameron Johnston sent a boot into the air that was negated by a roughing-the-punter penalty on Dolphins defensive lineman Zach Sieler, giving Buffalo a fresh set of downs. Five plays later, Allen found Khalil Shakir for a 15-yard touchdown, reclaiming a seven-point lead with 7:17 to play.

Allen finished 22-of-28 for 213 yards and three touchdown passes, adding the 200th passing touchdown of his career as the Bills pulled away late. Shakir, Dalton Kincaid and Jackson Hawes each caught a touchdown pass in the victory. Buffalo also leaned on its ground game, with running back James Cook totaling 108 yards on 19 carries. Buffalo’s defense helped seal the win when Terrel Bernard intercepted Tagovailoa on a late drive to preserve the margin.

Miami’s quarterback completed 23 of 35 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Tyreek Hill led the receivers with five catches for 49 yards and a score, while Jaylen Waddle added five receptions for 39 yards and a TD. Ollie Gordon II contributed a rushing touchdown for the Dolphins. The victory gave Buffalo its third win in as many games to start the season, and it dropped Miami to 0-3 as the teams widen their AFC East rivalry.

The installment of this meeting underscores Buffalo's early-season momentum while extending Miami's early-struggles in the 2025 campaign. Buffalo has now won seven straight against the Dolphins, dating back to the 2022 season, and the milestone on Allen’s ledger adds another chapter to his growing legacy as one of the league's most productive quarterbacks. Buffalo will look to sustain the surge in upcoming games, while Miami will search for adjustments after a tough start to the year.
