Browns stun Packers with dramatic walk-off field goal in massive upset at home
Rookie Andre Szmyt delivers the game-winner after a blocked Packers kick; Cleveland stops Green Bay’s attack and secures its first win of the season

The Cleveland Browns earned their first win of the season, rallying for a 13-10 walk-off victory over the Green Bay Packers at Huntington Bank Field after a blocked late kick set up a 55-yard game-winner by rookie Andre Szmyt. Cleveland's defense, among the league's best, harassed Jordan Love and kept Green Bay's offense in check, even as the Browns' own unit struggled to find rhythm.
Cleveland's defense was relentless, sacking Love five times and pressuring him throughout the game as Green Bay entered the night averaging around 27 points per game. The Browns did not score early, but they kept the Packers from extending their lead and finally found an opening when Love broke containment late in the fourth quarter.
When the fourth quarter began, Cleveland trailed 10-0 as Joe Flacco and the offense struggled to generate rhythm. The Browns finally got on the board with a field goal, then Grant Delpit stepped in front of Love and intercepted him at the Packers' 8-yard line with 3:38 remaining. Rookie Quinshon Judkins followed with his first career touchdown on a 1-yard run, tying the game after the extra point.
With 27 seconds left, Green Bay still had a chance to win, but Cleveland broke through on special teams. Brandon McManus lined up for a 43-yard attempt, and the kick was blocked by the Browns. Greg Newsome scooped up the ball and was tackled near midfield. Flacco then connected with David Njoku to set up Szmyt, who stood tall after a late spiking of the ball, drilling a 55-yard field goal as time expired to seal the upset.
Flacco finished 21-of-36 for 142 yards with one interception, while Quinshon Judkins carried 18 times for 94 yards and a touchdown. Love went 18-of-25 for 183 yards with one touchdown — a scoring pass to John FitzPatrick, the first of his career — and one interception. Packers running back Josh Jacobs, who entered the game with touchdowns in nine straight outings, was limited to 30 yards on 16 carries. The win marked a signature performance for Cleveland's defense and gave the Browns their first win of the season; Green Bay suffered its first loss in what was otherwise a promising start.
