Cadillac returns as title sponsor for Trump National Doral PGA Tour event
PGA Tour designates Doral a signature event for 2026 as Cadillac re-enters sponsor role for the Miami-area course
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Cadillac is returning as the title sponsor of a PGA Tour event at Trump National Doral, with the Cadillac Championship set for the first weekend in May 2026. The tournament will carry a $20 million purse and is being positioned as one of the tour’s signature stops on a course long associated with high-profile golf in Florida’s South Florida region.
Doral first joined the PGA Tour schedule in 1962 and hosted the event annually through 2016, when the course was folded into the World Golf Championship portfolio under various names. The return of the Cadillac Championship to the schedule for 2026 marks a reestablished link between the resort and the tour, following a period in which the course did not serve as a regular PGA Tour stop.
Cadillac previously served as the title sponsor of the World Golf Championship at Trump National Doral from 2011 through 2016. The automaker chose not to renew its contract in 2016, and the PGA Tour was unable to secure a replacement sponsor for Doral that year as the WGC event was moved to Mexico City.
Brian Rolapp, the PGA Tour’s chief executive, called Trump National Doral a “legacy venue on our schedule” and welcomed Cadillac back as sponsor. “We appreciate the support of Cadillac as we bring a new era of the PGA Tour to our fans in Miami,” Rolapp said in a statement.
The ownership of Trump National Doral and the tour’s scheduling decisions have seen the property outside the PGA Tour fold in recent years. Doral returned to the golf landscape in 2022 by hosting LIV Golf events for four consecutive seasons, before rejoining the PGA Tour schedule in 2026 as a designated signature event. The move underscores the tour’s efforts to anchor top-tier competition in the Miami area while leveraging Cadillac’s return to sponsorship.
Cadillac’s return as the event’s title sponsor signals a renewed push to solidify Doral’s status as a premier, legacy venue within the PGA Tour calendar. The appointment of Cadillac, combined with the course’s storied history and its strategic location near Miami, positions the Cadillac Championship as a focal point of the 2026 season for players and fans alike. The partnership also reaffirms Cadillac’s long association with elite American golf events, dating back to its prior sponsorship of the WGC at Doral.
As the calendar turns toward May 2026, players who have battled through the Florida heat at the Blue Monster will have a renewed incentive to test their games on one of the sport’s most iconic layouts, now under the banner of a prominent sponsor that has helped shape the tournament’s identity in the past. The Cadillac Championship will be watched closely for how it sets the tone for a PGA Tour season that is once again looking to blend tradition with renewed commercial partnerships in a rapidly evolving landscape of professional golf.
