Collingwood stars don wild costumes at Wacky Wednesday after final loss
Darcy Moore channels Erling Haaland; Ibiza Final Boss tribute and other film-inspired outfits highlight Magpies’ off-season party

Collingwood players celebrated the end of their season on Wednesday at The Sporting Globe Bar and Grill in Richmond for the club’s annual Wacky Wednesday party, after a 71-100 loss to the Brisbane Lions that ended their Grand Final hopes.
Captain Darcy Moore dressed as Erling Haaland, wearing a light blue Manchester City home shirt, black branded shorts, blue socks, and sneakers. The 203-centimeter skipper kept his blonde hair slicked back and appeared to mimic Haaland's meditation celebration in a group photo with teammates. Moore, star ruckman Mason Cox and key defender Isaac Quaynor were among players who joined the costume fest to usher in the off-season.
Dan McStay paid tribute to this summer’s Ibiza Final Boss by wearing a Nike tank top, a gold chain, a bowl-cut wig, and a shaved beard to resemble the internet personality Jack Kay. Beau McCreery and Jordan De Goey linked their outfits to film characters, with McCreery dressed as Will Ferrell’s Chazz Michael Michaels from Blades of Glory and De Goey as his ice skating partner Jimmy McElroy. Mason Cox arrived in an inflatable tube man costume. Darcy Cameron and Lachie Sullivan twins, with Cameron dressed as Dr Evil from Austin Powers and Sullivan as Mini-Me. Isaac Quaynor dressed as Jamaican sprinting star Yohan Blake. Brayden Maynard posted on social media about a mystery Spider-Man sighting and later appeared dressed as his mum, Donna Maynard, wearing a black wig, a black blouse, sunglasses and a scarf. Jack Crisp carried four cans of beer around his belt and dressed as Duffman from The Simpsons, entering with a teammate dressed as Spider-Man, while Oleg Markov arrived as a Bunnings Warehouse worker. Harry Demattia dressed as Nick Cummins, the Honey Badger, and Jamie Elliott appeared as Ben Stiller's character from Happy Gilmore. Mason Cox, at 6-foot-9, arrived in the inflatable tube man getup, while Isaac Quaynor wore Jamaican sprinting gear complete with running spikes and a Jamaican flag.
The breadth of costumes underscored a lighthearted mood as the Magpies turned the page on a disappointing season and looked ahead to the off-season. The party also comes amid a week when Moore and his partner, radio presenter Dee Salmin, drew attention at the Brownlow Medal ceremony, where Salmin wore a glittering white gown and Moore wore a full-black suit with a turtle neck jumper.
In other squad notes, Collingwood confirmed that three players would be delisted at season’s end: Charlie Dean, Ash Johnson and Fin Macrae, as the club manages its list ahead of 2026. The end-of-season celebrations, while reflective of the team’s on-field result, offered a moment of levity for the running Magpies as they transition to the off-season.
As the club looks to regroup, the Wacky Wednesday party provided a snapshot of the players off-field personalities and the team’s camaraderie, with many outfits trolling the line between pop culture, sports lore and the club’s own identity.
