Cowboys' injury woes deepen ahead of Micah Parsons' homecoming

The Dallas Cowboys face a growing injury crisis ahead of Micah Parsons’ homecoming at AT&T Stadium on Sunday night, with star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and rookie guard Tyler Booker sidelined by high ankle sprains after a 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Lamb’s injury initially appeared minor, but ESPN reported Dallas will monitor his condition over the next 10 to 14 days before determining a return timeline. Team owner Jerry Jones said Lamb and Booker could join center Cooper Beebe on IR, depending on how the next few days unfold.

Booker is expected to miss four to six weeks with the high ankle sprain, and he started every snap against Chicago. Brock Hoffman took Beebe’s place in the Bears game, and TJ Bass is expected to fill in for Booker moving forward.

Beebe, who started at center, landed on injured reserve after spraining his ankle in the Week 2 win over the New York Giants. Backup Brock Hoffman operated in Beebe’s stead against Chicago, while TJ Bass is slated to handle Booker’s duties when he’s unavailable.

The Cowboys now turn to a depleted offensive line as they prepare for Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers and the potential return of All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons to the Dallas scene. Parsons, traded to Green Bay before the 2025 season, is coming off a strong start to his Packers tenure, with 1.5 sacks and 15 pressures through his first three games wearing Green and Gold. His return to AT&T Stadium marks a homecoming the Cowboys anticipated with caution, as Dallas tries to contend with Parsons’ relentlessness while facing an offense that will be adjusting behind a makeshift line.

Dallas’ defense has shown a stumble in recent weeks, compounding the challenge of a thinner offensive unit. The team will lean on reserves and chess-piece adjustments as Parsons squares off against Dak Prescott and a Packers squad looking to exploit any holes up front.

It could be a long night for America’s Team, as the Cowboys balance the urgency of winning with the reality of a roster stretched by injuries and a returning star who has already begun to redefine what the Packers can do on defense.
