Cristiano Ronaldo pushes fan who breached security at Portugal team hotel
Video shows supporter forced past security to approach Portugal forward for a selfie ahead of World Cup qualifier

Cristiano Ronaldo was filmed pushing a fan who breached security and approached him for a selfie at Portugal’s team hotel, footage shared on social media showed.
A video posted on X by user Sebas Crackbol captured a supporter making his way past security and walking up to Ronaldo, who had returned to the hotel with the Portugal squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier away to Armenia. The footage shows Ronaldo pushing the man away before security personnel escorted the intruder, along with another supporter, out of the area.
The video was posted on X on Sept. 5 and circulated widely on Sept. 6 after news outlets picked up the clip. There was no immediate official comment from the Portuguese Football Federation or from Ronaldo’s representatives. Police or venue security statements were not available at the time of publication.
Ronaldo, Portugal’s leading scorer and one of world football’s most recognizable figures, was with the national squad preparing for Saturday’s qualifier in Armenia. Portugal also are scheduled to play Hungary away on Tuesday. The incident did not appear to affect the squad’s travel or match preparations, based on available reporting.
Security breaches involving high-profile players at team hotels and airports have drawn attention in recent years amid concerns over player safety and the management of fan access. In this episode, the fan left the immediate area in the company of security staff after the interaction. There were no reports of injuries.
The footage adds to a string of social-media clips that show supporters attempting to approach players in transit. National teams and tournament organizers generally restrict access around official hotels to accredited personnel and vetted guests, and breaches typically prompt internal reviews of protocols.
Portugal coach and federation officials have not publicly addressed the incident. The team’s next match, the World Cup qualifier away to Armenia, remains on the schedule, and Ronaldo is expected to be part of the squad unless the federation provides further updates.
