Devontez Walker says Belichick-Hudson dynamic could be 'good for him' if UNC keeps winning

Devontez Walker, a Ravens wide receiver and former North Carolina standout, has weighed in on Bill Belichick's relationship with Jordon Hudson, offering a favorable take amid ongoing distraction concerns.

Speaking to TMZ, Walker said: 'I think it's a little crazy but the love is there! I don't have nothing against it. It seems like she's good for him. He loves her. She loves him. As long as they bring in wins and don't let that stuff affect the program!'

Belichick, 73, has faced renewed scrutiny about his personal life as he works to build UNC's program, where Hudson, 24, has been a visible presence on the sidelines and in interviews. Hudson has long served as Belichick's de facto publicist and is rarely far from the legendary coach, prompting questions about whether the dynamic could become a distraction for the Tar Heels.

Hudson's prominence in coverage intensified earlier this year when she appeared front and center during a CBS interview with Belichick, repeatedly interrupting the on-screen questions to talk about how they met. The moment sparked chatter about the couple's influence on the program, with friends of Belichick reportedly discussing an intervention and others questioning whether Hudson was taking advantage of him. In August, two podcasters claimed they spoke to Hudson over the course of a week in several phone calls that left them uneasy as they tried to book her on their show, with Hudson allegedly shouting and crying about how the conversations had previously played out.

Former Patriots star Julian Edelman weighed in on the matter this month, telling PEOPLE that Belichick's stance on distractions could be hypocritical given his past admonitions to players. 'Everyone has their life outside of the sport. What he always told me is that we had to eliminate distractions. So, I don't know. You could take what you want with that,' Edelman said. 'I remember getting yelled at for being a distraction, so I think we're all in the business of eliminating distractions. That's just from what I learned from him.'

Hudson's sideline appearances continued to draw attention as UNC navigated a results-focused start to the season. She was seen on the UNC bench during the season-opening loss to TCU, 48-14, and again as North Carolina rebounded with a 20-3 win over Charlotte last weekend and a 41-6 victory over Richmond earlier this month. Belichick earned his first home win with the Tar Heels, and Hudson's sideline cameo persisted as UNC prepares for a trip to Central Florida.
