Europe extend Ryder Cup advantage over USA after day two morning session
McIlroy and Fleetwood help push Europe clear at Bethpage Black

Europe extended their Ryder Cup lead over the United States to 8.5-3.5 after a productive morning session on day two at Bethpage Black in New York. The morning built on what had already been a strong start for Europe, which led 5.5-2.5 after the opening day.
Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Young struck first, defeating Ludvig Aberg and Matt Fitzpatrick 4&2. Europe answered with Tommy Fleetwood and Rory McIlroy continuing their strong form to beat Collin Morikawa and Harris English 3&2.
Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton added another point by beating Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay 3&2. The final match proved the most dramatic, as Viktor Hovland and Robert MacIntyre held their nerve to edge Scottie Scheffler and Russell Henley on the final hole, pushing Europe to an 8.5-3.5 advantage.
