Ex-NFL star Shaun Alexander says wife is pregnant with 14th child
Former MVP reveals news on TV as family grows to 14 children; no gender or due date announced.

Former NFL MVP Shaun Alexander said on Wednesday that his wife Valerie is pregnant with their 14th child. He made the revelation during a discussion with FanDuel host Kay Adams, who showed a photo of the Alexander family. "So we're just now starting to tell people, but No 14 is in the belly," Alexander said. "You're the first one I've told on TV." He added: "It's really wild, this will be No 14." Alexander did not specify a gender or a due date for Valerie.
Alexander, 48, retired from the NFL in 2008 after nine seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and is best known for his 2005 MVP season. He is among the NFL's 10 running backs with 100 rushing touchdowns, with seven of those players in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His current brood includes 10 daughters and three sons; the eldest, Joseph, is playing high school football in Virginia.
Adams then noted that Phillip Rivers, who has 10 children, is eligible for Canton enshrinement next year. Alexander teased: "They slacking... I want my kids to see the Hall of Fame, am I asking too much?" Rivers' large family has been a talking point in NFL circles for years.
Valerie's pregnancy would bring the Alexander brood to 14, with Joseph, the eldest, already pursuing football at the high school level in Virginia. The family’s latest development arrives as Alexander's name remains associated with the Seahawks' 2005 MVP season, a highlight in the franchise's history. While Alexander is retired from the league, his growing family continues to draw attention from fans and sports commentators alike.
