Tommy Fleetwood and his wife, Clare, attended the Ryder Cup welcome dinner Tuesday at Hempstead House in Sands Point, New York, as Team Europe prepared for the United States-hosted clash.

Clare's appearance comes weeks after Fleetwood disclosed the reason she missed his first PGA Tour win at the Tour Championship in late August. Fleetwood said Clare and their middle son, Murray, could not travel because Murray underwent a spinal operation about a month earlier; Murray spent about three-and-a-half weeks in hospital, and Oscar came out to be with him.

Fleetwood won his first PGA Tour event at the Tour Championship in August 2025, defeating Patrick Cantlay and Russell Henley by three strokes to capture the $10 million FedEx Cup prize.

He is making his fourth Ryder Cup appearance this year and is an automatic qualifier for Team Europe. Ranked No. 7 in the world, Fleetwood said he relishes the energy of the crowd, whether it’s at home or away, and he enjoyed signing autographs and meeting fans.

The Ryder Cup returns to the United States this year after the 2023 competition in Rome.

The morning foursomes begin Friday at 7:10 a.m., followed by the four-ball matches at 12:25 p.m.; singles get underway Sunday at noon.
