Garden Cup returns to Madison Square Garden with Sabalenka, Osaka, Paul and Kyrgios

The Garden Cup will return to Madison Square Garden for the 12th time on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025, featuring a four-player card that includes No. 1-ranked Aryna Sabalenka and Naomi Osaka in one headline match and No. 15 Tommy Paul facing a healthy Nick Kyrgios in the other. Organizers also announced a mixed-doubles finale to close the one-night event.

Sabalenka, of Belarus, said she was looking forward to the appearance. "I love playing in New York so coming back to The Garden at holiday time will be awesome," she said. Osaka, of Japan, called the match-up special and noted the history of the venue, saying she was "looking forward to playing Aryna in December."

The two stars are set to make their Madison Square Garden debuts in this staging of the Garden Cup. Their only previous meeting came at the 2018 U.S. Open, when Osaka defeated Sabalenka 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 in the round of 16. Tommy Paul, the top American on the field, and Kyrgios, of Australia, complete the short exhibition roster; Kyrgios is listed as "now-healthy" after recent injury concerns.

Tickets for the Garden Cup 2025 will be available through official on-sale channels beginning Friday, Sept. 12. Secondary market listings are already available on platforms such as Vivid Seats, which notes that prices will vary from face value depending on demand and offers a 100 percent buyer guarantee for delivery. Madison Square Garden will reconfigure its layout for the one-night event with inventory across floor, 100-level and 200-level sections.

The Garden Cup arrives in the Tri-state the day after another high-profile exhibition scheduled for the region. On Sunday, Dec. 7, "A Racquet at the Rock" will be held at Newark's Prudential Center and will feature Carlos Alcaraz, Frances Tiafoe, Amanda Anisimova and Emma Raducanu. Alcaraz described that event as "a special night of great tennis."

The Garden Cup, an annual one-day exhibition that has become a holiday-season fixture in New York, has in past years mixed marquee singles matches with variety formats designed for fans and broadcasters. This edition continues that model with a compact field and a mixed-doubles finish. Organizers and players framed the return to MSG as both a competitive opportunity and a chance to perform at a venue with significant sports history.

Fans planning to attend should expect variable secondary-market pricing and a different seating configuration from regular Knicks and Rangers events. The official on-sale start date and venue notices are the primary sources for tickets and seating maps; buyers using third-party marketplaces are advised to review guarantees and delivery timelines before purchase.
