Indiana Fever fan removed after courtside exchange with Allisha Gray in WNBA playoff game
Security escorted a spectator from Gainbridge Fieldhouse after a heated interaction late in Indiana’s playoff win over the Atlanta Dream

An Indiana Fever fan was removed from Gainbridge Fieldhouse late in Tuesday’s WNBA playoff game after a heated courtside exchange with Atlanta Dream guard Allisha Gray, video of the incident shows.
The exchange occurred in the fourth quarter while the Fever held a lead of more than 20 points. Gray was seen turning toward the first row of spectators and engaging with at least one fan; security personnel later escorted a person from the courtside area. It was not clear from available footage what was said or whether Gray requested that security remove the spectator.
The incident was the only notable off-court moment amid Indiana’s win, their first playoff victory since 2015. The result forced a winner-take-all Game 3 against the Dream later in the postseason schedule.
Gray, a key contributor for Atlanta this season, has helped the Dream return to the postseason and is part of a core seeking the franchise’s first series win since 2016. The interaction with Fever fans came on consecutive possessions late in the game, and the spectator’s removal followed the second exchange, according to the video.
Social media posts showed fans and observers reacting to footage of the incident, but available recordings did not capture the remarks that prompted Gray’s response. The Daily Mail reported the sequence of events and said it had reached out to the Fever, the Dream and the WNBA for clarification. Team or league statements addressing the matter were not immediately available.
The episode follows other contentious moments involving Fever fans this season, including a courtside confrontation with Indiana guard Caitlin Clark during a July game against Atlanta and heated public reaction over Clarke’s NBA2K rating in August. Those incidents drew attention to fan-player interactions and arena conduct during games that have seen growing attendance and attention.
The Fever and Dream will meet again in the deciding Game 3, with Indiana’s season on the line. The league and the teams did not immediately release disciplinary details related to the removal captured in the video. WNBA policy gives arena security and team officials authority to remove spectators for conduct deemed disruptive or threatening to the safety of players, officials and other fans.
The identity of the removed spectator and any potential penalties or follow-up actions were not disclosed publicly after the game. Officials and team representatives did not provide immediate comment to media requests following the matchup.
