The New York Jets acquired cornerback Jarvis Brownlee Jr. from the Tennessee Titans in a trade announced Tuesday, the teams said. The deal sends a 2026 seventh‑round pick to New York in exchange for a 2026 sixth‑round pick that goes to Tennessee.

Brownlee, 24, has started 16 of 19 appearances since Tennessee drafted him in the fifth round out of Louisville in 2024. He has one interception and one fumble recovery in his NFL career. He was inactive last week with an ankle injury.

On the Jets, Brownlee will reunite with a familiar voice in defensive backs coach/pass game coordinator Chris Harris, who spent last season with Tennessee as their defensive pass game coordinator/cornerbacks coach. Harris, who played a key role in the Titans’ secondary, is now at the controls for New York’s secondary, which could help Brownlee transition to a new defense.

The trade represents another midseason adjustment for two teams trying to balance depth and opportunity at the back end of the roster. With this move, New York adds a young, developing corner to a room that has seen turnover this season, while Tennessee acquires additional draft capital to continue building around its defense.

Tuesday’s deal closed with the Jets obtaining a 2026 seventh‑round pick and the Titans receiving a 2026 sixth‑round selection, a swap that reflects the teams’ evolving roster strategies as the season progresses.
