The midfielder's career includes spells at Chelsea, where he made 82 appearances, and a move to Manchester United in 2014, where he amassed almost 200 appearances across eight seasons. After leaving Old Trafford, Mata had further stints with Galatasaray and Japan's Vissel Kobe before moving to Australia.
Mata's honours include a Copa del Rey, two FA Cups, a UEFA Champions League, two UEFA Europa League titles and the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Spain.
