Justin Fields to Start for Jets Against Dolphins on Monday Night After Concussion

Justin Fields will start for the New York Jets on Monday night against the Miami Dolphins after being cleared from concussion protocol Friday, Jets coach Aaron Glenn announced. Fields suffered a concussion in Week 2 against the Bills and missed last Sunday's game, but he practiced this week and was cleared to return.

Tyrod Taylor started in Fields' place in the Jets' loss to the Buccaneers last Sunday, underscoring the quarterback rotation the team has navigated this season. Fields' return comes after a strong season opener in which he threw for 218 yards and produced three touchdowns, though he struggled in the following week before suffering the injury.

Glenn said Fields has practiced this week and was officially cleared on Friday. In addition, the Jets ruled out edge rusher Jermaine Johnson and cornerback Jarvis Brownlee for Monday night, continuing an injury slate that has hampered the club at times this season.

With Fields back under center, the Jets aim to stabilize an offense that has shown big-play ability at times but inconsistency overall. The Jets face a Dolphins defense that has created pressure in recent weeks, and Glenn said Fields will be relied on to execute a full game plan rather than limited snaps.

The Monday night matchup offers Fields a chance to re-establish rhythm with his receivers and help New York regain momentum after back-to-back losses. The team will look to set a tone for the remainder of the season as they host the Dolphins in prime time.
