Liam Knight Eyes NRL Return Ahead of 2026 Season
Hull FC prop Liam Knight weighs a homecoming as he recovers from an ankle injury, with interest from multiple NRL clubs while dating Channel Nine presenter Danika Mason.

Liam Knight, 30, is weighing a return to the NRL ahead of the 2026 season, with management reportedly pursuing deals back home. The Hull FC forward, who signed a 12-month extension with the Super League club in July, is currently sidelined by a stress fracture to his ankle and has returned to Sydney to recover.
Knight has faced a disrupted year since agreeing terms with Hull FC in March, and he now finds himself at the centre of renewed interest from at least two NRL clubs. The front-rower has previously been on the books of Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Canberra Raiders, South Sydney Rabbitohs and the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, and his potential return to the NRL would mark a homecoming for a player who has spent the bulk of his career in Australia.
Knight has been in a long-distance relationship with Channel Nine sports presenter Danika Mason since they went public in July 2024, with Mason based in Australia and Knight continuing to ply his trade in England. The couple revealed their romance via social media after months of speculation, sharing a cuddle in a post that Knight captioned 'My life's good.'
Their public relationship followed Mason's high-profile breakup with fiancé Todd Liubinskas in September 2023, weeks before their planned wedding. Liubinskas, a personal trainer, later faced reports about the engagement ring, while Mason has since moved on and focused on her duties in Australian broadcasting. The split was described by Mason as an emotional rollercoaster, and she said she sought professional help during the period of upheaval. Despite the personal turbulence, Mason and Knight have maintained a long-distance relationship, traveling for getaways overseas when schedules allow.
After Knight agreed to terms with Hull FC in March, he negotiated a 12-month extension in July that kept him with the English club for the 2025-26 period. He is currently injury-recovering in Sydney, and his representatives are understood to be exploring options back in the NRL should a deal prove feasible. Hull FC officials have not publicly commented on the player's availability for 2026, and no confirmation has been given about any formal transfer talks.
