Max Scharping ruled out for season with torn ACL, Steelers announce
Steelers offensive lineman sidelined for the year following practice injury.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Max Scharping has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a torn ACL during Wednesday's practice. The knee injury was confirmed by an MRI, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported the Steelers expect him to miss the remainder of the year.
Scharping, 29, had not appeared in the Steelers' first two games this season. He appeared in two games for Pittsburgh last season and signed a one-year contract with the team this offseason.
The 2019 second-round pick began his NFL career with the Texans, spending three seasons after being selected No. 55 overall. He was released by Houston in 2022 and spent two seasons with the Bengals before joining the Steelers on a one-year deal this offseason. Across his career, Scharping has appeared in 81 NFL games with 33 starts.
