Micah Parsons' dominant performance lifts Packers to 27-18 win as fans taunt Cowboys
Two-time All-Pro recorded eight pressures and helped Green Bay improve to 2-0 while Lambeau Field fans chanted ‘Thank you, Jerry!’ after offseason trade

Micah Parsons delivered a breakout showing for the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night, recording a team-best eight pressures as the Packers defeated the Washington Commanders 27-18 at Lambeau Field to improve to 2-0.
According to NFL Next Gen Stats, the 26-year-old edge rusher generated eight pressures on 37 pass rushes, added three quarterback hits, two tackles and half a sack as Green Bay limited the Commanders to 230 yards of total offense. Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels, last season’s Offensive Rookie of the Year, was sacked four times and completed 57.1 percent of his throws; the Commanders scored just three points through the first three quarters.
Fans at Lambeau Field voiced their approval of the blockbuster offseason trade that sent Parsons to Green Bay from Dallas, chanting “Thank you, Jerry!” in reference to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The chant underscored the immediate impact of the move that reshaped the Packers’ pass rush heading into the regular season.
Speaking on Amazon’s Prime Video postgame show, Parsons credited a collective defensive effort. “I just think it’s contagious,” he said. “It’s just contagious, we’re just getting after the ball. … We’ve just got to do it consistently.” Parsons added that he felt relief after a fraught offseason in which his status with the Cowboys included a hold-in and contract uncertainty. “That’s the relief part, I’m finally able to be me,” he said. “Everyone knows this is my happy place. … You all don’t know how happy I am just to be playing football.”
The performance came four days after Parsons recorded his first sack as a Packer in Sunday’s win over the Detroit Lions. The quick turnaround reinforced Green Bay’s early-season defensive momentum and highlighted Parsons’ quick integration into the roster after the preseason trade.
Parsons, a two-time All-Pro, has been one of the most discussed players of the offseason following his departure from Dallas. The Packers’ game plan leaned heavily on his ability to pressure the quarterback, and Green Bay’s teammates complemented that approach with consistent pursuit and coverage that limited Washington’s opportunities.
Green Bay’s win at Lambeau Field came by building a lead through steady defense and timely offense. The Packers held the Commanders to long stretches without scoring and converted pressure into sacks and disrupted timing for Daniels. The victory keeps Green Bay unbeaten through two games and adds to the scrutiny of Dallas’ roster decisions after allowing Parsons to move to the NFC North.
