Micah Parsons' pressure fuels Packers' 27-18 win as fans taunt Jerry Jones

Micah Parsons dominated the line of scrimmage and helped lead the Green Bay Packers to a 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football, while Packers fans used the moment to taunt Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones following Parsons' offseason trade.

Parsons, acquired from the Cowboys in a deal that sent defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks to Dallas, finished the game with two tackles, a half-sack and three quarterback hits as he repeatedly pressured Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels. The Commanders managed just 18 points, 15 of which came in the fourth quarter.

Fans gathered near the postgame television desk awaiting Parsons' interview and chanted "Thank you Jerry" when cameras returned, a reference to Jones and the trade that sent the 26-year-old to Green Bay. Parsons nodded toward the crowd during the exchange.

The performance extended an encouraging start for Parsons with the Packers. He recorded a sack in his debut with Green Bay the previous week against the Detroit Lions. Parsons missed a significant portion of the Cowboys' training camp amid a contract holdout and a back issue before ultimately requesting a trade as negotiations stalled.

Jones had attributed the breakdown in contract talks to Parsons' agent, David Mulugheta, and the Cowboys agreed to trade their defensive standout after reported negotiations reached an impasse. In a statement released after the trade, Parsons said he never wanted the chapter to end but that not everything was in his control. "My heart has always been here, and it still is," he wrote. "Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process."

The trade reshaped expectations on Green Bay's defensive front and drew immediate attention for the impact Parsons has had in his first two games with the club. Head coaches and analysts have pointed to Parsons' speed and ability to collapse pockets as a disruptive factor for opposing quarterbacks, and Thursday night's showing provided another example of that influence on game flow.

Washington's offense struggled to generate sustained drives against Parsons and the Packers' front, failing to mount significant scoring until the fourth quarter. Green Bay's victory moves the team forward in the early regular-season schedule while reaffirming the role the former Cowboy could play in the Packers' defensive plans this season.
