MrBeast Doubles Over After Mike Tyson Punch Before Crawford-Canelo Fight

Jimmy Donaldson, the YouTube creator known as MrBeast, doubled over after taking a left hook to the abdomen from former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson before Saturday’s Terence Crawford-Canelo Alvarez fight at the Raiders’ stadium in Las Vegas.

Video from the event shows Donaldson telling those nearby, “I’m gonna take a punch from Mike Tyson,” before Tyson delivers a single blow to Donaldson’s stomach. Tyson smiled and laughed as Donaldson bent forward and recovered. Donaldson said afterward that he took the punch to raise awareness for the event; he was standing beside Turki Alalshikh, the chairman of the Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority.

The interaction occurred before the main event on Sept. 13, 2025, when Crawford defeated Alvarez by unanimous decision to become the undisputed super middleweight champion. Crawford, who will turn 38 in two weeks, improved his undefeated record to 42-0 and achieved a fifth divisional world title. Canelo Alvarez, 35, suffered the third loss of his professional career and is now 63-3-2.

Donaldson, 27, is the most-subscribed YouTuber with roughly 435 million subscribers and has been a visible presence at recent high-profile sports promotions, including NFL marketing tied to the Chiefs-Chargers game in São Paulo that streamed on YouTube. He attended the fight with his fiancée, Thea Booysen.

Tyson, 59, returned to the ring in recent years for exhibitions and a paid bout against Jake Paul last November, which he lost by unanimous decision after eight rounds. He is currently scheduled to face Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition next spring.
