Packers-Commanders to Kick Off Thursday Night Football on Prime Video

The Washington Commanders will visit the Green Bay Packers on Thursday to open Week 2 of Thursday Night Football, with coverage streaming exclusively on Prime Video. Coverage is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET.

Both teams enter the game 1-0 after opening-week victories: the Packers beat the Detroit Lions, and the Commanders defeated the New York Giants. The matchup has been described by some observers as a potential NFC championship preview; Washington reached the NFC title game last season, and Green Bay also made the playoffs before both clubs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in the postseason.

Prime Video holds the primary streaming rights for Thursday Night Football in the 2025-2026 NFL season. Viewers can stream the Packers-Commanders game on Prime Video and through NFL+. Amazon lists standard Prime memberships at $14.99 per month or $139 per year, with a standalone Prime Video option available for $8.99 per month. An ad-free version is offered for an additional $2.99 per month. Amazon also advertises discounted student pricing at $7.49 per month or $69 per year and a reduced $6.99 monthly rate for select government assistance recipients. A 30-day free trial of Prime Video is available.

The 2025 Thursday Night Football schedule on Prime Video includes a number of high-profile matchups. Following Thursday’s Packers-Commanders game on Sept. 11, the slate lists Miami at Buffalo on Sept. 18 and Seattle at Arizona on Sept. 25. October matchups include San Francisco at the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 2 and Philadelphia at the New York Giants on Oct. 9. November and December Prime Video windows include Pittsburgh at Cincinnati on Oct. 16, Minnesota at the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 23, Baltimore at Miami on Oct. 30, Las Vegas at Denver on Nov. 6, New York Jets at New England on Nov. 13, Buffalo at Houston on Nov. 20, Dallas at Detroit on Dec. 4, Atlanta at Tampa Bay on Dec. 11, Los Angeles Rams at Seattle on Dec. 18, and Denver at Kansas City on Dec. 25.

The schedule notes broadcast and streaming exceptions: Week 13 on Nov. 27 lists Green Bay at Detroit in an early window on FOX, Kansas City at Dallas on CBS and Paramount+ in the afternoon, and Cincinnati at Baltimore on NBC and Peacock in the evening. Week 17 on Dec. 25 shows several Christmas Day games with select matchups on Netflix and one on Prime Video. A Wild Card playoff game in January remains to be determined.

Thursday’s telecast will provide national exposure for both young quarterbacks; Jordan Love starts for Green Bay and Jayden Daniels leads Washington. Game coverage and streaming details are available through Prime Video and NFL+ subscription portals, and viewers should consult their local listings for any market-specific carriage information.
