Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said he tore his plantar fascia during the team's 33-19 victory over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday, but he does not expect to stop coaching from the sideline.

"Foot's good," McVay said on a recent episode of the Rams' "The Coach McVay Show." "I did tear my plantar fascia, so yeah. Well, that's a good thing, because I guess it allows you to heal a little faster. I was being dramatic, limping around towards the end of the game, but the MRI confirmed I did that. Good news is I'm not playing. I'm just on the sidelines watching, so if I have a little cool limp to add some swag, then you'll know why."

The plantar fascia is a thick band of tissue that runs along the sole of the foot and is a common source of foot pain. McVay, 39, did not specify whether he will need to wear a walking boot as the injury heals.

McVay is regularly seen sprinting along the sideline during games, often celebrating scoring drives or hustling to reach officials before plays. Before his coaching career he played wide receiver at Miami of Ohio.

The Rams rallied in the second half against Tennessee, outscoring the Titans 23-6 in the third and fourth quarters to improve to 2-0 on the season. Los Angeles is one of three teams in the NFC West to start 2-0, along with the Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers.

Los Angeles will face another 2-0 opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, in a rematch of last season's NFC Divisional-round matchup. The Rams travel to Philadelphia for a Sunday game scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Eastern.

McVay discussed the MRI confirmation and his decision to remain on the sideline on the team's show following the victory. Team officials have not released additional medical details or a timeline for his recovery.
