Riyadh Air Metropolitano to host 2027 Champions League final
UEFA confirms Madrid venue for 2027 final; Warsaw to stage 2027 Women's final and multiple 2026 venues announced

UEFA confirmed on Thursday that Atletico Madrid's Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium in Madrid will host the 2027 UEFA Champions League final.
The 70,692-capacity venue returns to the roster of final hosts after staging the 2019 showpiece. The announcement, made as part of a package of venue decisions, follows this season's final at the Puskas Arena in Budapest.
The decision is notable for Liverpool supporters: the club won the 2019 final at the Metropolitano, defeating Tottenham 2-0 with goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi. UEFA did not link the selection to any particular clubs, but the return of the stadium to the finalists' calendar revives memories of that match.
UEFA also confirmed the hosts for a number of other high-profile matches. The 2027 UEFA Women's Champions League final will be held at Warsaw's National Stadium in Poland. For 2026, the UEFA Super Cup is scheduled for Salzburg, Austria. UEFA's futsal competitions will be spread across Europe and Asia next year, with the 2026 Futsal Champions League final set for Pesaro, Italy, the Futsal Under-19 European Championship taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan, and the Women's Futsal European Championship to be held in Osijek, Croatia.
UEFA typically announces final venues several years in advance to allow host cities and local organisers time to prepare infrastructure, security and ticketing arrangements. The Metropolitano, which hosted the 2019 final when it was first used for Europe's premier club match, has a seating capacity of 70,692, according to UEFA's announcement.
The stadium is Atletico Madrid's primary home ground. The 2019 Champions League final there saw Liverpool captain Mohamed Salah score from the penalty spot in the second minute and Divock Origi add a second in the 87th minute to secure a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Puskas Arena in Budapest hosted the current season's final, and UEFA's venue calendar for forthcoming finals now extends coverage into both the men's and women's club competitions as well as futsal events and the Super Cup.
UEFA did not provide detailed timetables or match dates for the 2027 finals in the announcement beyond confirming the host cities and venues. Local organising bodies and national associations typically work with UEFA in the months after designation to finalise detailed plans, including ticket allocations, hospitality packages and community engagement programmes.
The announcement represents part of UEFA's ongoing scheduling and venue selection process, which balances rotating opportunities among member associations, stadium readiness and logistical considerations. Further specifics on match dates, kick-off times and ancillary events are expected to be released by UEFA and local organisers in the coming months.
