At the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, the Seattle Seahawks outlasted the Arizona Cardinals 23-20 on Thursday night, securing the win with a 52-yard field goal by Jason Myers as time expired.

Seattle built an early 14-3 lead and were ahead 17-6 before the Cardinals kicked back into contention, tying the game at 20-20 with 28 seconds remaining after a late rally.

The drama intensified moments later when, after a holding flag on Seahawks receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, the official prepared to announce the call, but the 23-year-old walked past and was heard muttering, "That's some bulls***" on the stadium microphones. The official paused, stared at Smith-Njigba, and then continued with the announcement without adding any further penalties.

Despite the distraction, Seattle kept its drive alive and completed the game-winning sequence. After the kickoff following Arizona's late score failed to reach the required landing zone under a new NFL rule, Seattle started at their own 40-yard line. Quarterback Sam Darnold quickly moved the offense, connecting with Smith-Njigba for 22 yards to bring Myers into range. The veteran kicker calmly drilled the 52-yard attempt to seal the win.

The Seahawks improved to 3-1, while the Cardinals moved to 2-2. In a separate storyline, Arizona debuted their new ‘rivalries’ uniform — a desert-themed design by Nike featuring a reimagined state flag on the sleeve, sandstorm speckles and copper accents — a reveal that drew mixed reactions from players and fans alike.

The result kept Seattle in the early-season playoff picture and left Cardinals supporters weighing the look of the new kit against the late-game outcome.
