The Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 23-20 on Thursday night in Glendale, delivering a road win that moves Seattle to 3-1 on the season and drops Arizona to 2-2.

Seattle built a 14-3 halftime lead behind two early scoring drives. Darnold found tight end A.J. Barner for a 16-yard score in the first quarter, and in the second Zach Charbonnet plunged in from the goal line to push the advantage to 14-3. The defenses held firm through the third, when both teams added field goals, and Seattle carried a 20-13 edge into the fourth.

Arizona answered in the fourth with Kyler Murray at the helm, throwing two touchdown passes to trim the deficit and tying the game with 28 seconds left after Emari Demercado scored on a go-ahead rush. Murray finished 27-of-41 for two touchdowns and two interceptions, and Marvin Harrison Jr. had 66 yards on six catches to lead Arizona receivers. Demercado’s late rushing score capped a 12-play, 57-yard march that set the stage for the dramatic finish.

The Seahawks then reclaimed possession after Chad Ryland’s kickoff failed to reach the designated landing zone, bouncing to Seattle at its own 40-yard line. Darnold moved the ball on a 22-yard connection to Jaxon Smith-Njigba to move into range, then Charbonnet added a four-yard run to set up a 52-yard field goal. Jason Myers delivered the game-winner as time expired, giving Seattle the 23-20 win.

On the stat line, Darnold finished 18-of-26 for 242 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. Smith-Njigba led Seattle receivers with 79 yards on four catches, and Kenneth Walker III topped Seattle’s rushing attack with 81 yards on 19 carries, while Charbonnet added 39 yards on 12 carries and scored a rushing TD. Arizona leaned on Murray, Harrison, and Benson; Murray’s two TD passes included Harrison’s late-game score, and Benson chipped in 35 rushing yards on eight carries with five receptions for 19 yards.

Seattle improved to 3-1 while maintaining its status as a contender in a tight division, and Arizona, despite the late rally, exited with questions about consistency on offense. The teams meet again later in the season, and Seattle will look to build on this road victory while Arizona aims to stabilize after the loss.
