Sha'Carri Richardson lands high-profile Nike SKIMS campaign weeks after domestic-violence arrest
Olympic sprinter stars in Kim Kardashian-backed Nike SKIMS campaign amid controversy as Nike affirms support

Sha'Carri Richardson has been tapped for a high-profile role in a Nike SKIMS campaign alongside Kim Kardashian, weeks after a domestic-violence arrest drew scrutiny to the Olympic sprinter. Nike released a series of images Monday featuring Kardashian, Richardson and other stars in the Kim Kardashian-backed SKIMS lineup, underscoring the athlete's continued commercial prominence.
Among the other participants are tennis icon Serena Williams, golf world No. 1 Nelly Korda, gymnast Jordan Chiles and snowboarder Chloe Kim. In a caption accompanying the image, Richardson said, "Wearing NikeSKIMS makes me feel confident and unrestricted. I feel fierce knowing I can look and feel this good while working hard."
Richardson's arrest occurred in July at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, when authorities say she attacked her boyfriend, fellow Olympian Christian Coleman. She was arrested on a fourth-degree domestic-violence offense and held in custody for more than 18 hours. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Richardson slamming Coleman against a support column, shoving him and bumping into him several times; an alternate angle appears to show her throwing something toward his head.
Despite the incident, Nike stood by Richardson and continued to feature her prominently on its site as the case remained active. Richardson publicly apologized in a video posted to Instagram, saying, "More than anything, definitely a lot of self reflection... holding myself accountable." She added in a later post to her story: "I apologize to Christian. He came into my life & gave me more than a relationship but a greater understanding of unconditional love... I love him & to him I can't apologize enough."
Two months after the arrest, the campaign rollout with SKIMS and Kardashian marks a notable point in Richardson's public narrative as she seeks to balance sport, personal challenges, and brand partnerships amid ongoing legal matters.
