Skattebo's backflip highlights Giants in loss to Chiefs
Rookie Cam Skattebo ties the game with a 13-yard rushing TD before halftime and celebrates with a backflip; Giants miss the extra point and fall 22-9 to Kansas City

Cam Skattebo's 13-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter tied the game at 6-6, and the Giants rookie celebrated with a backflip in the end zone at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The extra point was missed because kicker Graham Gano was not active for the game, and Kansas City answered with a field goal before halftime to take a 9-6 lead into the locker room.
Skattebo finished with 60 rushing yards on 10 carries and a touchdown, and he added six receptions for 61 yards. He began to shoulder more of the load after Tyrone Tracy Jr. left the game with an injury, turning six carries for 39 yards into a team-leading rushing effort at the break and adding three catches for 19 yards through the first two quarters.
In the first half, two Chiefs defenders helped derail the Giants' progression: Chris Roland-Wallace tracked down an underthrown pass intended for Wan'Dale Robinson, while Jaylen Watson jumped in front of a pass meant for Malik Nabers. The sequence contributed to New York being limited offensively and trailing at halftime.
Skattebo's previous appearance against the Cowboys in the prior week included a rushing TD, and he totaled 45 yards on 11 carries in that overtime loss. He did not receive as many opportunities in Week 1 against the Commanders, but his increased workload on Saturday suggested a growing role if the team sticks with him as a complementary back.
The Chiefs pulled away after halftime, adding a pair of field goals and a late score to seal a 22-9 win at MetLife. Kansas City controlled the tempo with a balanced attack, while the Giants were unable to sustain drives in the second half.
