Terence Crawford Presented $15,000 ‘42-0’ Rolex Ahead of Canelo Fight

Terence Crawford was presented with a $15,000 Rolex Submariner engraved with “42-0” on the eve of his headline fight against Canelo Alvarez, a one-off timepiece delivered in his Las Vegas suite by executives of the retailer that recently signed him as a brand ambassador.

The black-ceramic Submariner, part of Rolex’s 2025 collection, carries a gold-etched caseback reading “42-0” and was handed to Crawford by Robertino Altieri, chief executive of WatchGuys.com. The luxury retailer also presented Crawford’s eldest son with a Rolex Datejust valued at about $5,000.

WatchGuys.com said the gifts followed the firm’s recent ambassador agreement with Crawford and described the presentation as a fit for a fighter noted for timing and precision. The Submariner’s features include a black ceramic bezel, a luminous Chromalight display and Rolex’s automatic movement; WatchGuys.com specialises in Rolex, Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet timepieces.

The engraving and the timing of the presentation were framed as a public statement of confidence. Crawford, 37, will enter Allegiant Stadium with an unbeaten 41-0 record and the engraving signals an expectation that he will leave Las Vegas at 42-0. Images of the presentation circulated online and prompted debate among fans over the prediction’s audacity.

The fight pits Crawford against Canelo Alvarez, a four-division world champion whose record stands at 63-2-2. The sold-out Allegiant Stadium is expected to host about 65,000 spectators, and the bout will be available worldwide via Netflix’s global stream. Alvarez is the betting favourite; Crawford is moving up two weight divisions to challenge for the super middleweight crown.

Crawford is already a rare two-division undisputed champion and has campaigned through the lightweight, super lightweight and welterweight divisions during his career. Victory over Alvarez would add a third undisputed weight-class claim to his résumé and is widely framed in boxing circles as a fight with significant legacy implications.

Alvarez has been a dominant figure in boxing for more than a decade and remains one of Mexico’s most prominent sporting exports. A win over Crawford would reinforce those claims and could be used to counter critics who argue his peak is past.

WatchGuys.com said the presentation was intended to mark the partnership and to celebrate Crawford’s arrival in Las Vegas. Robertino Altieri personally delivered the Submariner in Crawford’s suite, according to the company, and the exchange took place the day before the scheduled bout.

Promoters and broadcasters have framed the matchup as a landmark event in boxing’s current era of mega-fights. Organisers expect global interest in the result to be high, given both fighters’ standing and the potential ramifications for the pound-for-pound discussion.

No alteration to fight arrangements was announced in connection with the presentation. Both camps had completed promotional obligations in Las Vegas and were preparing for the scheduled ringwalk at Allegiant Stadium.
