Travis Kelce Erupts at Teammates as Chiefs Drop Home Game to Eagles, Fall to 0-2

Travis Kelce angrily confronted Kansas City teammates during the second quarter of the Chiefs’ 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, a heated outburst that was captured on video and widely shared on social media.

Video posted to X showed the veteran tight end remove his helmet, fling it to the turf and shout, “I’m sick of this s–t,” toward teammates while the Chiefs held a three-point lead. The incident occurred at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri, and drew attention amid a tense game that ended with the Chiefs dropping to 0-2 on the young 2025-26 season.

Kelce, 35, later fumbled a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the loose ball was returned as an interception by Eagles defensive back Andrew Mukuba, a turnover that proved pivotal in a one-score game. The Chiefs were unable to regain the lead, and Philadelphia held on for the victory.

The loss came less than two weeks after Kansas City opened the season with a 27-21 defeat at the Los Angeles Chargers on Sept. 5 in São Paulo, Brazil. That game featured another running storyline involving Kelce: Chargers lineman Teair Tart was shown on video striking Kelce during a play, an act that prompted fan outrage and led to an ESPN report that the NFL planned to fine Tart $12,172.

Kansas City’s back-to-back losses extend early-season concerns for a roster that entered the campaign with Super Bowl expectations. Turnovers and lapses on special teams and defense contributed to both defeats, and the Chargers and Eagles games underscored difficulties the Chiefs have faced in closing tight contests.

Kelce has been a central figure in the Chiefs’ offense for more than a decade and remains one of the team’s most targeted receivers in short-yardage and red-zone situations. His frustration on Sunday mirrored a broader urgency from the team as it attempts to regroup after consecutive setbacks.

Taylor Swift, Kelce’s fiancée, was not visible on camera at Arrowhead Stadium; reports said she entered discreetly and was accompanied by family members. The team did not immediately release statements addressing Kelce’s on-field outburst. The NFL has yet to announce any discipline related to the incident captured on video.

Kansas City now faces the task of correcting turnover issues and stabilizing its roster execution before its next game. The Chiefs will look to halt their two-game skid as the regular season progresses, while coaches and players assess the mistakes that contributed to back-to-back losses.
