Travis Kelce Imitates Patrick Mahomes in Sao Paulo After Tease About Brazil

Travis Kelce mocked Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes on Thursday, impersonating his teammate during a crowded media availability in Sao Paulo after Mahomes earlier teased Kelce about not knowing where Brazil is.

Mahomes had set up the exchange over the weekend, joking that some teammates “didn't understand how far the travel was” and singling Kelce out. “Travis, even though he was just down there last year, I was explaining to him how the globe works,” Mahomes told reporters. Kelce waited until a large group of cameras and journalists had gathered before delivering his response.

Mahomes began answering a question during the session when Kelce cut in, adopting Mahomes’ tone. “Oh man it was crazy, it was a lot of fun seeing all the fans there,” Kelce said, before switching back to his own voice to add, “He had that one coming for telling everybody I didn't know where Brazil was on a map.”

The exchange drew attention from the international press and highlighted the teammates’ well-documented rapport and penchant for lighthearted practical jokes. The interaction occurred as the Chiefs fulfilled media obligations while in Sao Paulo, where NFL teams and players often take part in promotional and league-related activities.

Both Kelce and Mahomes have been central figures in the Chiefs’ success and frequently appear together in interviews and public events. Their playful back-and-forths have featured in prior media moments, and the Sao Paulo incident fits a pattern of inside jokes shared between the two.

The brief impersonation did not affect the substance of the media session, which continued with reporters moving on to questions about team preparations and travel. Team personnel did not issue any statements about the exchange, and both players resumed the standard duties expected of NFL representatives while abroad.
