The U.S. Open wrapped a record-breaking run in 2025, with attendance, prize money and beverage sales all hitting new highs. Officials said 1.14 million people passed through the gates at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from Aug. 24 to Sept. 7, the tournament’s largest crowd ever, and the event’s $90 million purse marked the biggest payday in professional tennis — up 20% from last year. Singles champions Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka each earned $5 million, the largest winner’s checks in tennis history and about a 39% jump from last year’s titles.

Fans also lined up for the tournament’s signature cocktail. Honey Deuces, a Grey Goose vodka–lemonade drink topped with a skewer of honeydew melon balls, was ordered 738,459 times during the 2025 edition. The running total equaled about $17 million in Honey Deuce sales, a 32% increase from 2024. The cocktail carried a $23 price tag, helping push beverage revenue to new heights.

Beyond singles, the Open marked a first in prize distribution for doubles: the winning teams in men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles each took home $1 million. Merchandise and partner-driven sales also surged, with US Open-branded jackets priced at $268, Peter Millar polos at $130 and teddy bears at $42, all showing double-digit year-over-year gains as fans flocked to shops and online stores.

Organizers tied the performance to a broader, celebratory branding effort around the tournament’s Spectacular motif, arguing the week-long event underscored tennis’s appeal across demographics and regions and helped spur community engagement in tennis programs.

Allaster said the tournament’s results reflect the power of sport to bring people together and to drive growth for players, partners and fans. She described the 2025 Open as a showcase of the sport’s potential and its ability to unlock new audiences.

With attendance, prize money and beverage sales hitting unprecedented marks, organizers said the momentum could extend into 2026 as sponsors and broadcasters capitalize on the Open’s expanding footprint in the calendar year. The event’s fresh record-keeping highlights tennis’s evolving economics and its appeal to a broad base of viewers and attendees.
