Viral video shows goose attacking college golfer and sending him into water hazard
Clip from an April college tournament republished on TikTok has drawn millions of views after an aggressive goose appears to send a player tumbling into a pond

A viral video shows an aggressive goose attacking a college golfer during a tournament, causing the player to fall backward into a nearby water hazard and drawing millions of views after it was republished on social media.
The clip, originally posted April 5 on a TikTok account belonging to Goucher College golfer Tyler Lynch and republished last month, shows a player identified in the footage as "Sam" confronting a goose between holes. The video has been viewed more than 7.7 million times on the account that repackaged the footage.
In the footage, the golfer flinches when the bird approaches and steps back before the goose suddenly moves forward. The player swings his club several times at the bird while onlookers can be heard laughing, and the player is shown landing on his back in the water hazard. He emerges a few seconds later, appears to be soaked, and runs away uninjured. A second goose briefly appears in the shot; the player does not take additional swings at the birds before leaving the scene.
The original poster and others in the clip identify the player as Samuel Tyson, who was a junior on Goucher College's Division III golf team and competed at the Catholic Cardinal Classic on April 5 at Blackrock Golf Course in Hagerstown, Maryland. Tournament records show Tyson shot a 5-over-par round and tied for 20th place in the event. Goucher's current roster for the upcoming season does not list a player by that name.
Social media response to the clip included branded commentary; the official Charmin account posted a light-hearted reaction referencing the player's "survival instincts." The video has circulated across platforms and prompted coverage in national and international outlets.
Gopher College team members can be heard reacting in the video as the incident unfolds. No injuries were reported in association with the incident, and there has been no public statement from Goucher College athletics regarding the footage or any follow-up with the player shown.
Encounters between golfers and geese are not unheard of on courses that border wetlands or ponds; birds can become territorial in breeding season or if they feel threatened. Such incidents are typically handled by course staff or wildlife officials when they pose ongoing risk to players or visitors.
The clip adds to a string of viral sports moments that have been widely shared this year, in which unexpected wildlife encounters or unusual on-course events attract attention beyond the usual tournament coverage. The video remains available on social platforms where it was republished and continues to circulate among golf and general-interest accounts.
