Woman left bloodied after altercation at SoFi Stadium during Texans-Rams opener
Video from Sunday’s game in Inglewood shows a melee in the stands and multiple ejections; authorities and team officials were contacted for comment.

A physical altercation in the stands at SoFi Stadium on Sunday left a female Houston Texans fan with a bloodied face and prompted several ejections as the Los Angeles Rams hosted the Texans in the NFL season opener.
Video of the immediate aftermath circulated widely on social media, showing men and women in Texans jerseys arguing with a group of Rams supporters in the upper deck as stadium security moved through the section. The woman, wearing a JJ Watt replica jersey, was escorted by security while her face appeared bloodied in footage shared online. It was not immediately clear whether any arrests were made in connection with the incident.
According to video and eyewitness accounts, the woman was walked out of the section by security staff while a male companion continued to argue with personnel and other fans. Observers said fans in the Rams section pointed at someone they appeared to blame for the confrontation, but those gestures did not make clear whom they were indicating. The Rams beat the Texans 14-9, as Los Angeles’ defense limited Houston to 265 yards.
Daily Mail reported that it had reached out to Rams spokespeople and the Inglewood Police Department for additional information. Stadium officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment, and the Inglewood Police Department did not provide confirmation of any arrests by publication time.
SoFi Stadium, which opened in 2020 and serves as the home field for both the Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers, has seen a number of fan altercations since its debut. A preseason brawl in 2021 between the home teams’ fan bases drew attention after witnesses said it took security several minutes to stop. Fans and season-ticket holders described recurring incidents in subsequent seasons.
Eric Macedo, a Chargers season-ticket holder, told CBS News in 2023 that several fights during games had made concourses chaotic. "Everything was so chaotic," he said. "It was like one fight here, one fight here. As soon as one person jumped in, another person tried to stop the fight then they end up getting hit, and so that brings more people involved. It's been getting worse every, almost every game to be honest."
Incidents continued through the 2024 season, including brawls involving visiting fans near the stadium and fights that spilled onto concourses during games. In one 2024 incident, a man in a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey was recorded pulling another fan off a person who was left bloodied on the concourse. In another, a woman was knocked down during a confrontation between visiting San Francisco 49ers fans and others outside the venue.
SoFi Stadium management has previously said it works with teams and local authorities to enforce policies and remove disruptive fans, while local law enforcement has intervened when on-site incidents rose to criminal behavior. The NFL requires teams and venues to enforce safety and code-of-conduct policies, and the league has urged fans to report violent or unsafe behavior to stadium personnel.
The Rams and Texans had no further comment by Monday morning. The Inglewood Police Department and stadium security personnel did not provide an immediate public account of the specific Sunday incident.
Sunday’s confrontation adds to concerns about fan safety at large NFL venues and follows other notable stadium altercations in recent seasons. League officials, teams and stadium operators typically review incidents after games to determine whether additional security measures, ejections, bans or criminal charges are warranted. As of Monday, the status of any investigation into the SoFi Stadium altercation and the condition of the woman who was escorted out had not been publicly disclosed.
