WWE star Jimmy Uso aims for singles title as he and Naomi prepare for family arrival
Uso speaks to Fox News Digital about pursuing a solo championship while his wife Naomi awaits their first child ahead of WrestleMania.

Jimmy Uso remains focused on expanding his legacy in WWE, saying he would love to win a singles title even as he continues to thrive in tag team competition. In a conversation with Fox News Digital before a high-profile WrestlePalooza match, Uso outlined his goals for the roadmap ahead, which include breaking new ground personally and professionally while his wife, Naomi, competes in a different chapter of the sport.
The big weekend event pits Uso and his twin brother, Jey Uso, against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in what promoters are touting as the first EMF-free match in WWE history. The bout comes as the Usos prepare for a stretch of shows that could shape their paths in the company for months to come. Uso did not shy away from acknowledging the milestone in the context of his long career in the ring, noting that success in singles competition would represent a significant personal achievement alongside the family-focused moments on the horizon.
"I would love to have a singles title, just to say that I’ve done it. I’ve been in tag team, still in tag team," Uso told Fox News Digital. "Even when my brother went to Raw, I went with Solo (Sikoa). We tagged together and I kinda just stayed with them. I’ve always been in the tag-team scene with anybody, with everybody, especially lately, especially after me any brother split brands. That would definitely be a bucket list for me just to say I’ve held a singles championship." The comment underscores his desire to diversify his resume and prove he can lead as a solo competitor while continuing to contribute to a dominant tag team legacy.
He also reflected on the evolving dynamics within his family’s WWE storyline. By WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas, Uso said he expected to be welcoming his first child with wife Trinity Fatu, known in the ring as Naomi. Naomi publicly announced her pregnancy last month and relinquished her championship as a result, a move that has heightened the sense of life changes for the couple and their fans. Uso emphasized how personal milestones are intertwining with the professional journey as WrestleMania approaches.
"By WrestleMania, our baby should be here. So, that’s another thing I’m excited about. The world is a lot more different to me these last months," he said. "With my wife, with the big announcement and where were are today, how life really changed in the blink of an eye for us and our family. So, by April, I’d love to have a singles run, if not, it’s all love. But my favorite part is ‘Mania because I know our little, whatever we’re having, he or she will be here and I’m excited. This ‘Mania is going to be very exciting for me."</n The remarks come as Uso and his partners have spent much of their careers as a top-tier tag team, with eight tag-team championship reigns to their credit. The prospect of a successful singles run would mark a historic shift for one of WWE’s most enduring parings, delivering a new chapter while the larger family story continues to unfold in the ring and on-screen promos.
The timeline he described also aligns with ongoing family-focused moments outside the ring. Naomi’s pregnancy has drawn attention from fans and analysts alike, and Uso’s comments suggest that the couple views WrestleMania as a pivotal crossroads that blends professional ambitions with personal milestones. He acknowledged the life changes that have accompanied the news and indicated that the coming months could redefine how he approaches competition and competition schedules going forward.
As WrestleMania looms, the WrestlePalooza match and other high-profile dates will test Uso’s adaptability. While his primary track record features tag-team success, his candid reflections signal a willingness to pursue individual opportunities should they arise, all while maintaining the strength of the Usos’ much-lauded legacy in the tag circuit. The first-ever EMF-free match adds another curious wrinkle to a weekend that fans will be watching closely, given the potential implications for future feuds and title scenarios within WWE.
For Uso, the push toward a singles run would complement a broader arc that has long featured him as part of a dominant duo. The emphasis on family, coupled with the lure of a new championship, illustrates the way in which current WWE stars are balancing personal milestones with professional pursuits in a high-profile, media-driven sport. The couple’s public profile, paired with the evolving WWE calendar, positions Uso to make a notable mark both in and out of the ring as WrestleMania and the spring schedule unfold.
