Bondi warns of 'new era of political violence' as DOJ deploys to ICE facilities nationwide

Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Saturday that the United States has entered a 'new era of political violence' as federal agents will be deployed to Immigration and Customs Enforcement facilities nationwide. In a video posted to X, Bondi announced that Department of Justice assets would be deployed to secure ICE facilities nationwide, a move that comes after a Dallas-area attack in which a gunman fired on an ICE facility from a rooftop. The shooter, Joshua Jahn, 29, died by suicide after investigators say he killed one detainee and wounded two others.

Bondi vowed 'ZERO TOLERANCE' for political violence and domestic terrorism, citing a string of incidents she described as threats to federal officers, including attempts on President Donald Trump and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, and violence in Minnesota and a shooting at a Texas ICE facility. 'If protesters so much as touch one of our federal officers, they will be sent to prison,' Bondi said. She said, 'We’ve seen this before. These are not peaceful protests. These are coordinated attacks by radical extremists, and they end now.' She added that sanctuary cities nationwide were on notice after actions in the capital and she directed Joint Terrorism Task Forces to disrupt and investigate all entities behind domestic terrorism.

The Department of Justice will seek the most serious available charges against all participants in these criminal mobs, including conspiracy offenses, assault offenses, civil disorder offenses, and terrorism offenses, Bondi wrote. 'The rule of law will prevail.'

Bondi also directed the FBI, DEA, ATF, and USMS to accelerate efforts alongside the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to locate, apprehend, detain, prosecute, and remove all illegal aliens present in our country.

DHS and ICE did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's requests for comment.

In Dallas, authorities say Joshua Jahn, 29, opened fire on a Dallas ICE facility from a nearby rooftop, killing one detainee and wounding two others before taking his own life. Investigators detected a bullet with the word 'ANTI-ICE' at the scene.

Protest at Chicago ICE facility

Demonstrators march past the Chicago Theater in a protest against the administration’s immigration policies. Officials described more than 200 violent rioters at a Chicago ICE facility, chanting 'arrest ICE, shoot ICE.'

Officials have not provided details on how many agents will be deployed or which ICE facilities will be secured. Bondi said the Joint Terrorism Task Forces across the country would be directed to disrupt and investigate all entities and people engaged in acts of domestic terrorism, including violence and obstruction against federal officers. DHS and ICE did not respond to requests for comment.
