Brooklyn Man Arrested After Alleged Attempts to Rape Two Teen Girls on Same Day, Police Say

A Brooklyn man was arrested Friday after police said he attempted to rape a 13-year-old girl on her way home from school and then attacked a second teen several hours later in the same neighborhood. Justin Lee, 22, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment, authorities said.

The first assault occurred around 1:35 p.m. near Ocean Boulevard and Ditmas Avenue in Kensington when Lee followed the 13-year-old into her apartment building, grabbed her by the neck and pushed her beneath a staircase before fleeing, police said. The girl did not sustain any physical injuries during the daylight attack, investigators noted.

A few hours later, just before 7 p.m., Lee allegedly attacked a 15-year-old girl in a similar manner in the same area, according to police sources. The victims were not injured, and detectives said the two incidents are being treated as separate assaults.

Lee's arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court was pending Saturday, according to online court records. Authorities did not disclose a motive or indicate whether there could be additional victims, and the investigation remained ongoing.
