Dana White calls for unity, normalcy after Charlie Kirk assassination

UFC CEO Dana White urged national unity and a return to normalcy after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, telling Fox News' Special Report that the country needed to come back together. White, a supporter of President Donald Trump, said it was hard to wrap his brain around the incident and that in the days since the event people had started to feel optimistic only to have that return. He said the event affected not just his family but many young people who admired Kirk, and he emphasized a need for unity and normalcy for the country.

He described his initial reaction during a recent appearance on Logan Pauls podcast, saying he woke up to a flood of messages and was stunned. He added that his children were affected; his daughter, 19, in college, had been destroyed by the news over the past few days. He noted that many kids who followed Kirk were impacted and that the episode underscored the need for healing as the country moves forward.

Tyler Robinson has been charged with aggravated murder, two counts of obstruction of justice and felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, two counts of witness tampering and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child, authorities said. The charges reflect a broad slate of alleged crimes linked to the shooting.

Charlie Kirk, founder and executive director of Turning Point USA, was a conservative activist whose work has made him a prominent figure on college campuses and within conservative media.

White’s remarks come as national political tensions remain high. He reiterated a desire for unity for the rest of this year and into next year and urged Americans to stop the in-fighting and finger-pointing and to return to normalcy.

The investigation into the assassination continues as authorities pursue leads and Kirk's supporters cope with the loss of a figure who helped mobilize young conservatives.
